My hometown Lucerne is a tourist city, so postcards are very popular.
Through the idea of a different land visited by people from a completely different world, I used the old classic movie "The Wizard of Oz" and mixed it with Lucerne's city.
The Red Shoes from the witch looking out of the Lucerne Lake as she's drowning next to the old town's yellow stone bridge. Which is overlooked by the Emerald Hotel Gütsch. It's a half analogue / digital collage out of old vintage postcards coloured traditionally. There are many different drafts of other postcards I've created during that time. In the end, I chose the final postcard, which was then printed in offset.
